As we enter, and look forward to the The Holiday Celebrations let us remember all the empty and vacant eyes of those who have no hope. I would like to focus on Abandoned and Abused  Animals. Those that were fortunate enough to be brought to a Shelter and with them the urgency of responsibility when adopting a Shelter Pet. Here we are possibly thinking of a Puppy for a child, or are overtaken by their constantly asking when will they be able to have a Kitten or Dog of their very own, and you think maybe its time?

I recommend you think long and hard, because if it is the case, there are questions you will have to ask yourselves. A question, for example, am I ready to take care of an animal, walking and training and for sure the occasional mishaps at home? The cost of Veterinarians and Food, or understanding that a pet brought into your home, will need time to adjust to his or her surroundings. She may snap at a child's pulling in all directions, or poking eyes. To then feel you must protect your child and return the animal to a Shelter. I for one feel that this is Animal Abuse, these Puppies or Kittens, Dogs or Cats really do have feelings and because they may have been abused before or abandoned for what-ever-reason, deserve better.

Shelters visits during the Holidays double or triple with people wanting to take home a Furry Friend....... There are hundreds of pets waiting for their forever home and it is really a matter of life-or-death for them. Please do the right thing and do your homework before you Adopt a Pet this Holiday!
